Spring 2011. A retrovirus, designed as a tool in gene technology , gets out of control and leads to uncontrollable mutations. All living organisms crossbreed with one another – plants with animals with humans. The result is devastating. In just two days 90% of mankind died, the rest mutated. Only very few people seem immune to the virus and they have to struggle for survival in a now hostile and constantly changing ecosystem.
